We're married to this land and rooted in its place. As we live, and as we gather, may we recognize that we are connected through the winds that blow air into our lungs and through the waters that move deep into the earth and up into the sky. We are connected by the embers of justice that draw us in, warm us up, and kindle compassion in our hearts, and we are connected by the roots of the tree of life which supports the branches of restoration and regeneration. May we daily acknowledge that the ground beneath our feet is historically the home of Indigenous Peoples, many of whom have been forced to leave for other lands. May we commit to honoring their stories and learning the truth of the Piscataway and Susquehannock peoples who were the first to live, love, celebrate, lament, sing, and dance upon the land where we now farm.

We are farming on land that was once inhabited by the indigenous peoples of the Piscataway and Susquehannock tribes. We recognize that this land was unjustly taken from them without their permission. We hope our lives upon and care for this land will honor their legacy and wisdom in living harmoniously with this place.
